Aquila said the Tex Report, an industry publication, reported earlier this month that contract prices for high-grade manganese ore ranged from $11 (R86) to $15 a ton, while spot prices were quoted at $17 a ton."It is reported that manganese prices are expected to firm due to a shortage of 1 million tons of manganese ore to be supplied into the world market in 2008, largely driven by reduced growth of high-grade manganese ore and a swing from export to import of manganese ore by India," Aquila said.
